The 8.5 cm height lets it fit under furniture with ease, while front cameras and infrared sensors aid it navigate around obstacles and thresholds with ease.
The Scout RX3 impressed us in our tests on how well it was able to clean baking powder from baseboards and corners. Its suction of 2,500 Pa was less powerful than some other robots, however, it moved swiftly and was extremely quiet. It didn't clean, however, and its removable cleaning pads were a bit difficult to attach and didn't deal with dried-on dirt.
The app doesn't have advanced features like multiple cleaning modes or automated scheduling. It works with Alexa however its voice commands don't seem to be very intuitive or responsive. It's also a little erratic when it comes back to the charging station following the course. Other robots can follow a wall or trace a previous route however the RX3 stumbles around until it gives up.
We also had issues with the intelligent features of the device, including its mapping feature and the digital stay-out zones. It was effective in keeping our shoes and furniture legs away but it was easily hung up on cables, socks, and rug. That's why we chose not to include it on our Best Buy list. The Scout RX3 offers a good price and impressive performance. It's worth considering as an alternative to the traditional uprights.
